An injured passenger on the Doral, Florida-based Carnival Cruise Lines’ Carnival Fantasy cruise ship was evacuated by a Charleston County emergency medical services response team and members of the Charleston Fire Department of South Carolina shortly after the ship left the Charleston port for a Bahamas cruise, WCSC reported on August 14.

Carnival spokesperson Aly Bello said they returned to the terminal after departing so that an injured passenger could debark; the passenger was transported to a shore-side medical facility for the treatment of his injuries. The ship’s five-day itinerary remained on schedule.
